Mon, 25 February 2008 ![]() At this year's Oscfar ceremony, there is no doubt that Red dominated the color of the gowns and dresses selected by the stars. The designers did their research and delivered gorgeous dresses to the elite of Hollywood. Best Actress for La Vie en Rose, Marion Cotillard did not wear red, but her dress was drop-down gorgeous. Tatoos were also part of the Red Carpet. Diablo Cody from Juno spotted a tatoo on her right arm. It was obvious there. Sorry to the ladies who were waiting for George Clooney! He brought his girlfriend, Sarah Larson, to the ceremony. Heidi Klum came in the hands of her man, Seal. She is ready to auction her dress on eBay after the show. Hilary Swank wore a beautiful one-strapped gown that was well designed too. There were a few wrap-around dresses and gowns that flattered the actresses' bodies. For example, past American Idol winner, Jennifer Hudson did justice to her wrap-around. Wed, 6 February 2008 ![]() In a surprising twist the Writers Guild of America Strike claimed its biggest award season victim today, the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Consistently the most well attended, hard won invite in town, the VF bash is where the beautiful masses come together under the watchful eye of editor-in-chief Graydon Carter, inspiring a flood of photo ops among power players and glamazons. But not this year. "After much consideration, and in support of the writers and everyone else affected by this strike, we have decided that this is not the appropriate year to hold our annual Oscar party," the magazine announced today in a statement on their website.

Usually held at Morton's Steakhouse in Los Angeles, the fete was booked for relocation this year to Craft, the eatery housed inside uber-agency CAA's building. Reps for the magazine confirm that while invitations were designed, none were mailed. Talk about being over before it started! While a bit shocking (especially given recent rumors that the strike will resolve in time for the ceremony), other big events seem undeterred. Wed, 6 February 2008 ![]() Tom Julian, McCann Worldwide, said it best, "Over the last eight decades there have been many fashionable and defining Oscar moments: the gilded looks of the '40s, the sweetheart statements of the '50s, the pinups of the '60s, the revealing styles of the '70s and the dramatic designs of the '80s." Once again, movie fans all over the world are waiting for Feb. 24 to see their best celebrities win a few more gold statuettes. At the same time, they will brag about the movies they thought the best made of the year. Taking a look at Oscar Retro, one can see the prevailing styles of the past 80 years through the Oscar ceremony. http://promdressesrock.com/oscarknockoff/oscarindex2.html This year, the Oscar ceremony is going to be held on Feb. 24. It will be telecast by ABC once again. ABC again will broadcast the show live from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. http://promdressesrock.com/oscarknockoff/bestdressed.html The 80th Annual Academy Awards has settled into the late-February time frame that the awards show has now used three times — in 2004, ’05 and again this year. Next year’s ceremony is set for Feb. 24, the last Sunday in February, said Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences president Sid Ganis, who announced the 2008 Oscar calendar Wednesday. http://podshoppingblog.com/vigilandomedia/
